VanDeWalker, Michael C.

Michael C. VanDeWalker, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Hillsdale Hospital.

In accordance to his wishes cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will be hosted Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

He was born December 18, 1942 to Ray and Agnes (Gospel) VanDeWalker in Pontiac, MI. Michael had worked at GM and Gibson Guitar in Kalamazoo while going to school to ultimately achieve his career in education.

Mike had taught at both Coldwater and Camden-Frontier Schools for a combined 26 years until his retirement. He loved to read, especially poetry and also enjoyed writing, even to the extent of composing his own books. Michael was a good friend to many and will be missed by all.

Michael is survived by his children Stan VanDeWalker of Kalamazoo, Amy (Dennis) Wycuff of Paw Paw, MI; his siblings Nancy Allen, David VanDeWalker both of Kalamazoo and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Jackie and Lanny.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Branch County Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
