Mariann Eleanore Conklin, 69, of Adrian passed away on Jan. 27, 2013, at her home under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee.

She was born April 26, 1943, in Kalamazoo, Mich., the daughter of Herbert and Eleanore Emmons. On April 23, 1966, she married James Conklin and he survives.

Mariann was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She worked as a data analyst for Washtenaw and Monroe ISDs and as a consultant for the Ypsilanti school district. Mariann earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. Mariann was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society at Eastern and was also a member of M.E.R.A. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles and spending time on the computer. Her greatest joy was the time that she spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mariann is survived by two daughters, Beth Kim of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Marnie (Josh) Reynolds of Kentwood, Mich.; and her three grandchildren, Katie, Camden and Carmen. Mariann was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
